Center for Urban studies & Regional Development

A structural unit of the National Research Tomsk State University aimed at becoming a hub integrating research, education and innovation in cross-disciplinary complex research of sustainable development of the urban ecosystems, livable and smart urban environment and quality of life. The activity of the center is targeted at networking of the faculty, research organizations, technology entrepreneurs, innovation clusters, and civic organizations of Tomsk, Russia and around the globe.



Our Targets & Tasks:

1 To provide high level education and research in fundamental and applied urban studies, training specialists to shape the labor market of the future in urban studies and regional development;

2 To develop scientific school in urban studies and regional development, including chairs, labs and research groups studying the urban areas in conditions of dynamically changing reality;

3 To provide conditions for co-working of the young researchers, postgraduate students with efficient and experienced professors, to root in sphere of education and science more promising youth candidates;

4 To engage leading international specialists in urban studies and regional development to form competences necessary to develop new approach for urban environment transformation and overcoming technical barriers.
